Hello Eddy;

Thanks so much for your interest - I'm looking forward to doing an interview with you too.

I can't think of a "Reader's Digest" encapsulation that'd do justice to the questions you've listed here, so I'll respond directly in an email.

Looking forward to chatting with you in person!

Best,
Joanne

Hi, I recently got in touch via Twitter about a feature on the careers show. I will post a brief insight on my newsletter but could you answer this question for the show "How did you arrive in this job?" (ie: school life, qualifications, had you always worked with birds, are there particular qualifications you need to work with birds, and advice to anyone interested in working with birds?). Thanks. eddy

We had Joanne come and do fantastic introductory sessions with people aged 10 to 70 and it was so well received.
Joanne and her assistants are incredibly passionate and they share that passion and joy so freely you can't help but want to learn more and enjoy their feathered friends. I for one learned a great deal and gained incredible respect both for the art of Falconry and the raptors themselves.
We're having them back next year because they were such a hit and are so great with clients, children too!

Hi, Joanne

Wanted to say "Hi" and hope you Sabre and Mohave are doing fine. I still hold dear my day with you at the very quiet gymnastics meet in Duncan last year. Thanks for introducing me to Sabre, he is amazing; glad I had the time to spend with you there. I still can feel him sitting on my glove and looking into my eyes, reading my thoughts!
Have not been back to Island since but maybe one day...Take care and keep up the great work. Happy holidays to you all!

Regards,
Linda

I took the full-day course, and I will tell you right now, it was really an amazing experience. I definitely belong in the "I never thought this could happen for me..." group of people, and being able to learn about them and about taking care of them was a real eye opener. Joanne's passion for the art, and the raptors themselves is unbelievably inspiring. I look forward to spending time with Joanne and Team Feathers in the future--how could I not?

It is not often one meets somebody so passionate about what they do. In Joanne's case, that passion is there in spades and matched by a remarkable level of falconry knowledge and experience. It was a privilege to share an afternoon with Joanne and her beautiful feathered friends, and I look forward to doing so again.
